Today was a fun day to get out and do some dog training. The lucky dog today was Mollie and she got to learn more about sitting and staying when told and we also worked on shaping her recall. She wasn't perfect, but has come a far way since we started. She loves to work and please, the challenge is getting the stubbornness out of her. With more practice, I am confident she will come to me in any situation. Good day today, Mollie!
Today was a wet, rainy day at the dog park but the dogs didn't mind it one bit. We were lucky to have our spot since it's covered by rock and not muddy. Everyone was fully energized and was ready to play! I got the Frisbee out and everyone was having fun chasing each other around. Duchess, Jaya and Rufus was having a fun time playing together. The little ones were just sniffing around and even met a couple new dogs. We headed towards the water and the waves were coming in! The tide was up too. Tracy was ready to start swimming and everyone did a good job behaving around the other dogs. Odie had fun playing fetch with a stick while Jaya was waiting for Tracy to come to shore to steal her ball. She's such a cutie. We were at the water for awhile and once they were ready we headed back. We had a really fun day today considering the conditions. Enjoy the video and stayed tuned for Wednesday's park adventure!
Today, we had a very mature well rounded pack with us. Everyone behaved on the ride to the park and the truck was POOP FREE! I couldn't believe it, good job ya'll! The weather today was a little misty covered by clouds but not windy. Everyone started playing on the hills and released all that built up energy! You'll see in the video that Dash was not having a good day. He did not welcome any dogs into our pack, it's okay Dash, we all have our bad days. Once they got bored with the hills we moved to the open area and got the Frisbee out. Tracy enjoyed playing fetch and even caught a couple mid-air! The dogs were ready to keep moving so we headed towards the lake and I actually did a good job herding the dogs up the path. They got to the water and got some fresh water and met some new friends. One women loved all the small dogs and they welcomed her pug as well. I threw Tracy her pink ball and Rufus enjoyed taking it from her once she got back to shore. Thanks, Rufus, made my job much easier! We headed back to the hills and finished playing there. I was impressed how mature everyone was today. The lucky dogs in our pack were Meester, Rufus, Jax, Coco, Miles, Duchess, Dash and Tracy. Stay tuned for Monday's park adventure!
Today was an awesome day for the dogs. It was clear, calm and dry! We got out of the truck and I noticed no one pooped! I was amazed. Everyone waited patiently until they got in the park. Good job, doggies! The park looked full at first but turned out to be pretty empty. We played in the big open area and I got the frisbee out. Tracy fell in love with it and caught some mid-air! After some play time we headed towards the water. We got there and everyone seemed calm and happy. They all did their thing and played with each other. Tracy had fun playing with her pink ball as some others made a couple new friends. I was able to catch up with a couple dog walkers and meet some of their pack while we were there. After hanging around the beach for awhile we headed back to the open play area. After everyone was ready we headed towards the truck. Very fun, adventurous day! We had 8 dogs in our pack today including Jax, Miles, Coco, Duchess, Dash, Odie, Jaya and Tracy. Stay tuned for Friday's adventure. We'll have Rufus and Meester back with the pack!
I walked outside today and saw the the overcast clouds and I was like, oh no, another wet, cloudy day. Luckily, the sun was trying to come out and we were happy about that. Monday's are fun because most dogs have an abundance amount of energy and their tails are just a waggin! I rounded the pack up and headed to Magnuson park for some off-leash fun. When we pulled in , I realized there were hardly any vehicles parked and that meant more space for us! Once everyone got into the park we played in the big open field. After the dogs were ready for the next move, we headed towards the water. Everyone did a great job keeping up and moving through the other packs of dogs. Once we got to the water, there was another dog walker and her pack. She had a black small dog that Dash, the Chihuahua did not like and he told him to, well, you'll see. I know it's bad that I laugh about it, but I don't mind him telling dogs to stay away. They all loved playing in the water, chasing each other and drinking from the lake. We stuck around for awhile and even had the beach to ourselves! Once they were ready, we headed back to the field and played some more. After giving them fresh water, we leashed up and headed to the truck. Everyone did such a good job today I rewarded them with some turkey sausage. We had a great pack today including - Rufus, Cooper, Jax, Coco, Miles, Duchess, Dash and Tracy.
Today was a dry yet cloudy day. We were much happier not getting blasted by the wind on our last visit. Once all the dogs were in the park I allowed them to run around the hills near the small dog area. They love zipping around and burning all that energy off! We tried to hang out in our usual spot but a lady was there with her dogs and I wasn't feeling the energy her dogs were giving off so we decided to head for the water. All the dogs did very well at staying with each other and keeping up with the pack. Coco was trailing a little bit while sniffing out the fences, Jax was trying to herd him back with the pack. We got to the water and Tracy was excited to swim after her ball and the dogs were refreshed after drinking some water. There was a black lab that was just barking and barking (you can hear him in the background of the video) at my pack so after some play we decided to head back to the field and play more where we're not bothered. Once the dogs were done playing, we leashed up and took them to the truck. I had Anna, my girlfriend, helping me today. We had 9 dogs today including - Rufus, Jaya, Odie, Duchess, Coco, Miles, Jax, Dash and Tracy. Stayed tuned for the next update on Monday! Also, there is a volunteer work party tomorrow (3/3) at the Magnuson dog park for people interested helping keeping the park clean. The work party starts at 9:30am and lasts until 1:00pm.
Today was a very wet, muddy, windy day. I wish I knew the gusts because it felt like 100mph. We entered on the south side of the park and the dogs immediately started playing on the hills. There was some heavy traffic in our usual spot, so we decided to go to the large open field. After releasing some energy, when then headed to the water to get some relief from all of the wind! Tracy wanted her a ball and she started swimming towards it in the choppy lake. The little dogs found some new smells around a log and was marking and sniffing. You'll see a white coyote/shepherd mix in the video. His name is Meester and is an amazing boy. Growing up in Mexico, he was allowed to hang out with the wild. 3 time cancer survivor as well. It's so nice to see an old guy like him enjoy going to the park and playing. Duchess and Rufus enjoyed playing with each other while Jaya found some company with some other dogs outside of our pack. Once everyone was ready we headed back to gate. Everyone was very good about staying together and had a stress free time going down the long stretch from the lake to the open field. We got back into the truck and away we went! We had a total of 10 dogs today including Meester, Rufus, Jaya, Odie, Duchess, Miles, Coco, Jax, Dash and Tracy.
Somebody thought it would be funny to take a poop in the truck today! We think it's Rufus. I did blame it on Cooper at first. Sorry buddy. I got everyone out at the park, away we went and they were ready to run! Everyone is doing a great job sticking together as a pack. We entered at the north gate, headed south to the fountains and I love watching the dogs play around the hills. I moved everyone over to the open field just southeast of the big open lot where you enter. It's where the short video clip was filmed. It's fun because the dogs can get all of that built up energy out so they're more maintainable for the mile walk ahead of us to the water. It was a little stressful today since a dog owner was on their cell phone not paying attention to their overly excited black lab. It's a shame when people don't pay attention to their dog at the park. Once they left, everyone was back to normal and the dogs had fun playing in the water. We had 8 dogs in our pack today. Rufus, Zephyr, Cooper, Duchess, Miles, Coco, Jackson and Dash. We'll have some footage up tomorrow of some other dogs in our pack!
